Get a grip get it slipped and grip it Slick

As a high-energy guy who’s been gifted with a set of enormous mitts–my hands are yuge, the biggest!–sometimes I find that even full-size handguns just don’t quite fit right. I also find that as a high-energy guy rocking yuge paws and the occasional sweatily nervous reaction to stress, that some handguns just don’t have enough texture to them to keep them from slipping out of said enormous sweaty mitts. That’s why I’m stoked to learn that Pachmayr has just released its new Gripper Slip-on Grip.

I’ve used Pachmayr grips before, and have always been pleased with their quality–especially at the price. The Gripper Slip-On Grip has a unique design and contour, allowing it to fit a large variety of popular medium- to full-size pistols. Crafted from a tough rubber compound, the Gripper is impervious to weather, sweat, oils, and solvents. It features an attractive non-slip texture along with palm swells for great fit and control. Backside finger grooves are recessed to allow use on pistols with or without finger grooves. The Gripper can be trimmed for a customized fit and feature molded trim lines to provide a clean, even cut. Best of all, it’s in stock now for $10 online here, or at a sporting-goods retailer near you…so you can get out there and grab ’em by the Pachmayr.

This grip will fit the following pistols (although some models may require trimming):

• Glock 19, 23, 25, 32, 38, and 17, 20, 21, 22, 31, 34, 35, 37.

• S&W M&P Full Size & Compact, M&P M2.0 Full Size & Compact.

• S&W Sigma, SD, SD VE.

• Sig 226, 228, 229, P320 Full & Compact.

• Ruger SR9, 22/45

• Beretta 92, 96

• CZ 75, P-07

• Walther P99

• Hi Point 380/9mm/40/45

• Browning Hi-Power

• H&K USP

  1. I owned one of these Pachmayr grips (for a Sig). It does make the gun more comfortable to hold … although it tends to edge its way down and needs to be “tugged back up” periodically.

NOTE WELL: I found out during a defensive training class that this grip is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS on a defensive firearm. It can slip down about 1/8 of an inch, blocking the ability to insert a new magazine. And that happened EXACTLY in a defensive (training) scenario; if I had need to change mags in a real-life situation and had to fiddle with “pulling the Pachmayr grip back up” in order to insert a new mag, I’d probably be *dead*. So unfortunately, I had to toss out my Pachmayr grip.

If you want to use it on a range gun that won’t be used defensively, that would be fine. But I would never, EVER install this grip on a defensive firearm.

  2. All you said is true regarding the rubber grips from pachmayr, but as a consumer and long time user of pachmayt grips i have found that after extend and prelong use with slip on version they do start to slip off the pistol grips. In one tactical exercise that i particpated i found that i could not insert my spare magzine into the magzine well of my GLOCK 26 because the grips had slipped down so much that they were covering and obstructing the mag well. After prelonged use this kept happening over and over again. I finally just took them off, never to be used again.
