Quiet Cataclysm: New BERSA Silencers Shatter Status Quo

Seems everyone’s coming out with a line of whisper pickles these days … but these are different.

Big news from BERSA, which has just launched a new line of silencers, known as WhisperTech. What’s interesting about these is that they use a different technology than all of the suppressors that came before. Up until now, silencer manufacturers still relied on Hiram Maxim’s dated (1902) method of sound suppression, which involves solid-gas suspension. BERSA utilizes a patented solid-separation method to eliminate solids from suspension, allowing gases to flow through the silencer. The gases generated by the solids seamlessly integrate with the gas flow through BERSA’s WhisperTech line of silencers, resulting in a quieter experience for the shooter.

There are currently five silencers in the WhisperTech line: a .22 LR silencer called the B-22, a full-auto rated 5.56 silencer called B-556X, a 7.62/.30 caliber silencer called B-762, a 6.5mm precision silencer called B-65P, and a 9mm full-auto rated silencer called B-9X. Each of them is smaller in length and diameter than products designed for the same gun/caliber combination. BERSA also promises a consistent and minimal ballistic POI shift, with minimal breech blowback.

Each of the WhisperTech silencers is now available for order, featuring patented cutting-edge technology that renders them smaller, lighter, more accurate, and user serviceable. If the performance of the WhisperTech line of silencers wasn’t impressively disruptive compared to competitors utilizing dated 1902 technology, the prices for these silencers surely will be.
