IWI’s New MASADA Pistol Takes No Prisoners

If it’s good enough for the IDF, it’s good enough for me.

The story of the Siege of Masada has echoed through the generations for the last two millennia as an example of self-sacrificing bravery…so only Israeli Weapons Industries (IWI) could be the group to bring us a pistol bearing that name: the MASADA 9mm. This polymer framed striker-fired pistol was developed in order to provide an advanced solution to the modern battlefield requirements of a fighting force that has zero room for mistakes.

The MASADA takes user preferences to a new level, with each feature carefully selected based on input from military personnel, law enforcement officials, and gun enthusiasts alike. To begin, its hardiness: The frame is made of high-strength, impact-resistant fiberglass-reinforced polymers. Like all IWI firearms, it is built to withstand and endure all types of military use and abuse in extremely harsh environmental conditions.

Then there’s the trigger. Long the weak link in the ergonomic relationship between gun and shooter, the MASADA’s trigger breaks the mold of “factory” triggers. The MASADA utilizes a modular, serialized, high-grade steel trigger mechanism housing that can be easily removed, allowing simple and easy disassembly and maintenance. The trigger was designed to enhance the shooter’s accuracy and safety. The MASADA trigger has an average pull of 6 pounds with a clean, crisp break and a positive reset. Featuring a built-in trigger safety, the pistol will not fire unless the trigger is pulled.

Ergonomically designed with fully ambidextrous controls and three interchangeable back-straps, the MASADA pistol fits a wide variety of hand sizes. The MASADA was designed with a low bore axis for reduced perceived felt recoil. Overall, The MASADA was engineered to endure all elements while maintaining IWI legendary attention to detail and reliability.

The MASADA is out-of-the-box OPTICS READY and includes interchangeable mounting plates for the Trijicon RMR, Leupold Delta Point, Sig Sauer Romeo 01, and Vortex Venom. The MASADA has an MSRP of $480.00. Additional information can be found at the IWI US website, here: https://iwi.us/product/m9orp17/

  1. I like the Masada,Israilies are known for making excellent weapons,i definitely will purchase one,my daily carry now is Taurus p111 gen2, or Springfield XDM 3.8. Price on Masada is not bad,why spend $1500-$2000 0n a Wilson, or Kimber

  2. I had a Jericho 941 in .45. Great shooting pistol, that is until Magnum Research “fixed it”. I know Magnum just put their name on it but they “fixed it” twice and it never shot right again.. The problem was only cosmetic and I wish I had just let it go at not perfect. Fianally on the third try the one they replaced it with said Baby “Dresert” instead Baby Desert. They wanted it back. They got it back and replaced it with a Sig P220. The P220 still goes bang Everytime. So I guess IWI makes their share of mistakes but theirs were cosmetic only Magnum’s were functional.

  3. Again another fine product from IWI, They design products for extreme use . No safe queens for them; having had both the Jerhico and Baby Desert Eagle I man attest to the quality. Will be looking for the Masada as well as the Galil Ace.

  4. Vic not so. The cellphone was invented by Israel as well as the Core i3, i5, i7 and Celeron processors. Israel gave the world the drone and saltwater desalinization. Gabriel aerospace Israel and Raytheon Industries in the US produced the finest missiles in the world. Israel produces all the electronics for our weapons. The Israelis took the F-16 and with 700 electronic mods has brought it into the modern fighter age. My Baby Eagle Compact is a marvel of technology. If I could carry in my State that would be my carry gun.

  5. All their weaponry is 1st class. Israel developed:
1st Intel chip for computers, cellular phone for IDF, drones for IDF
    Refurbished our tanks in Vietnam
Were 1st to use flares from helicopters to confuse Sam shoulder missiles in Vietnam, etc. etc

  6. Hi

Regrettably not every product From IMI
Is being used by the IDF. At the end of the day IMI is a private company and if the IDF doesn’t have the funds then they’re not using certain products being manufactured. Most of our equipment is part of the financial aid backed by the United States.
Currently the pistols that are being used by the Israeli military are Sig 226 and Glock 19.
The mesada is not! being used by the IDF currently.
