Steyr Arms’ Letter to America: COVID-19 Won’t Stop U.S.

As the Coronavirus epidemic went worldwide and America began instituting measures to reduce its spread, the folks at Steyr Arms have been quietly preparing to keep serving America’s firearms owners. Today, we’re in receipt from this letter from Steyr’s Chief Financial Officer, Scott Tirman, and the message is clear: Although Steyr Academy training classes are currently postponed, production continues as America weathers this crisis–as we’ve done many times before. Here’s the heartfelt letter Steyr CFO Tirman passed along to us to share with you:

To our Steyr Family,

First and foremost, the entire Steyr team hope that you and your loved ones are safe and in good health.

As you well know, the COVID-19 pandemic is causing massive disruption impacting lives, the economy, and businesses.

These are certainly challenging times.

But Steyr Arms is no stranger to adversity.

For over 100 years, we’ve weathered challenges and emerged stronger because of it.

And we will again. Together.

Currently, we’re adapting by the minute.

As we navigate this new reality, we have taken the following precautions to safeguard our team members and customers:

• Cleaning & Sanitizing: In an effort to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we have implemented additional cleaning & sanitizing procedures set by the CDC throughout our facilities and shipping area.

• Social Distancing: Our administrative team is currently working remote, and our production team is working on revised hours to support a safe working environment. Regretfully, all Steyr Academy training classes are postponed.

Like the rest of the industry, we’re experiencing a significant increase in firearm sales and lead times.

We’ll continue to do our best to meet our customers’ needs while safeguarding our team members.

Together, we’ll overcome these challenging times and emerge stronger.
