FBI Report: Armed Citizens DO Stop Active Shooters

Armed citizens save their own lives by the hundreds of thousands each year. They also stop mass shooters. Here’s proof.

A newly-released FBI report on “active shooter incidents” in 2021 revealed four of those killers were stopped by armed private citizens, and the Second Amendment Foundation says this is strong evidence the right to keep and bear arms is as important today as it was when the Constitution was ratified more than 200 years ago.

There were 61 active shooter incidents last year, the FBI report said. All but one of the killers were males, and ranged in age from 12 to 67 years. SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb lauded the FBI report for acknowledging the role played by legally-armed citizens in stopping some of these events.

“It is important to acknowledge these citizen first responders, and the countless lives their heroic actions saved,” Gottlieb said. “Truly, these were good guys with guns.”

“There is one revelation in the report for 2021 that underscores the importance of right-to-carry laws,” Gottlieb noted. “According to the FBI, active shooter data shows an upward trend in such incidents. People have a right to defend themselves and their loved ones if they are caught in the middle of such mayhem. Unquestionably, in each of the four cases cited by the FBI report, lives were saved.”

According to the FBI, in addition to the four perpetrators killed by armed citizens, 30 of these violent thugs were apprehended by law enforcement, and 14 were killed by police officers. One was killed in a vehicle accident during a law enforcement pursuit, 11 others committed suicide, and one remains at large, the report notes. In 2020, the FBI report noted, citizen first responders killed two criminals in the act.

Gottlieb has co-authored several books dealing with armed self-defense by private citizens, the most recent being “Good Guys With Guns,” published by Merril Press.

“Each year,” he said, “there are tens of thousands of cases in which private citizens use firearms in self-defense. The four incidents in which the criminals were killed represent a small but significant part of this larger story. The bottom line is that our Second Amendment rights are just as relevant today as they have ever been.”

Everyone is missing the main point.

Our government has created a sick society by trying to control our every action and decision.

This has made our population go insane because they can’t afford to have a sane life.

It’s no wonder that some of them would act upon their insanity and strike out in violence against our most vulnerable and/anonymous people because they can’t attack the very institution that causes all our problems.

Until we can dismantle our present government which has become nothing more than a collection of corrupt thieves, we have no hope of the present level of insanity not devolving into mass violence.

It appears that we are beyond the point of correcting the situation because we have destroyed our medium of exchange (the dollar) which has precipitated our inability to exchange goods and services and produce those goods that we shipped the production of to countries that produce them via child labor and poverty labor rates only to ship those cheaply made goods back to us to pay for with our inflated dollars the government had to create to pay for our increasing national debt from all the crazy programs and wars our government has involved us in for decades.

The Piper must now be paid by our lowered standard of living and/or our deaths.

it isn’t GUNS that caused this.

Our corrupt government (that has guns to intimidate us) has caused all this.

Instead of government you should use the “System.” The most salient fact of modern life is ownership and control of the media. The government is simply a part. Or think of the System as large corporations working together with the government being the largest with a monopoly on violence.

Our current political “leaders” are clueless. It’s crystal clear in unrelated news where our President has dementia or something worse because he blames the Ukraine invasion for high gas and oil prices and ever increasing inflation. He “begs” OPEC to produce more oil to help us yet he can’t remember that HE is responsible for stopping our oil and gas production and killing the pipeline. Yet, instead of restoring what he stopped which would increase supply, reduce prices and create more American jobs, he insists on giving Arabs more jobs by asking them for more oil. How stupid are Democrats anyway? (Rhetorical question as we know they all are intent upon destroying America as we know it.)

Democrats are very stupid or really destructive might be the best description.
They dislike freedom,LEGAL gun ownership, domestic oil and gas drilling, refining and production.they dislike manufacturing, they dislike private business owners and the list goes on and on.
      The Democrats are a curse.

Multiple studies over the years have shown that the great majority of legal gun owners do not commit crimes with them, whereas most crimes committed with firearms are done so with illegal ones. In spite of that, our government has determined that the best thing to do is to attack the guns and make it far more difficult for law-abiding citizens to own and carry them, rather than dealing with the criminal and/or mentally ill elements that are doing most of the shooting and killing.

Our current government just proves that stupid is rampant. Will it be any less horrifying if after the guns are taken away from honest law abiding citizens the next mass killing will be performed with a chain saw or can of gasoline? Arm the teachers so they can protect the students.
