Close, Medium, Far Drill: Because Bad Guys Won’t Stand Still

Published

on

CrossBreed Holsters asks: Do bad guys like to hold still?

Or is it more likely that a determined attacker may start further away and get closer? So many of us spend time on the range worrying about punching perfect little groups into an X-ring. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it doesn’t exactly prepare you for a self-defense scenario. Human beings act like human beings whether they’re “the bad guy” or not, and that means that someone bent on doing you harm isn’t going to hold still while you line them up at 10 yards. That’s where the “Close, Medium, Far” drill comes in. This is a practical shooting exercise that’s meant to sharpen your ability to draw from concealment and put shots on target at the distances where you’re likely to engage … close, medium, and far.

Of course, it’s so much easier to draw from concealment confidently when you have a great holster that keeps your firearm secure until you need it. CrossBreed holsters has an incredible variety for just about every handgun manufactured, from tiny micropistols to great big hogleg revolvers, thanks to their excellent working relationships with gun manufacturers. Even if that gun you just bought was designed last year and produced 10 minutes ago, CrossBreed has a holster (or six) to fit it. Want more information, or more helpful tips? Check out CrossBreedHolsters.com–as of the time of this writing, they’re offering 15% off SuperTuck and MiniTuck holsters!

Of course, you could also win a CrossBreed Reckoning system and gun belt with our Ring In Spring $3K Guns & Gear Giveaway!
