Take USCCA’s New Disaster Prep Course Before 2020 Strikes Again
The year 2020 is apparently a BDSM scene, and none of us know the safeword. This is the next-best thing…
September is “National Preparedness Month,” and with it comes the bitter reminder that just because we’ve already endured several disasters doesn’t mean the year 2020 doesn’t have a few more surprises up its sleeve. That’s why the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA), which provides self-defense education, training and legal protection to over 400,000 American gun owners, recently launched their new Emergency Preparedness Fundamentals training.
“This year, the Coronavirus pandemic has opened our eyes to the critical importance of being prepared for when disaster strikes. The ease and convenience at which we access water, food, shelter and security has caused many of us to lose sight of how to fend for ourselves and loved ones without basic needs,” said Tim Schmidt, CEO and founder of the USCCA. “The importance of self-reliance will never be more real than in a survival situation, which is why the time to become educated and trained is now. No one should ever second-guess their ability to protect themselves and their families when the unthinkable comes knocking at the door.”
Schmidt recently spoke with Fox News about the surge of first-time gun owners in the United States – hitting nearly 5 million in 2020 so far – and the critical importance of training and education:
- “The first thing I would explain to [a] new gun owner or concealed carrier is that the training required by your state is not even close to enough. I don’t care if you’re in the most stringent state in terms of training, it’s not enough. You need to find a way to educate yourself on firearms handling.”
USCCA’s Emergency Preparedness Fundamentals Training will help responsible Americans uncover the four core pillars of survival, build a 72-hour survival kit for any disaster, gain secret insights on sheltering in place and understand the fundamentals of home defense with a firearm. Where is the link to building the 72 hour kit? I clicked the link provided and it brought me to the membership sign up page. I’m already a member so that is why I received the email…
Tacicool Timmy screws up again
Perhaps the USCCA website has the link to building a 72-hour kit? I am a member as well, but I only joined for the insurance. The offer training and sell stuff on the USCCA website. I bought targets from them, that’s all the shopping I’ve done with them. I do know there are other things available. I build survival kits as a hobby in retirement. I am copying and pasting a statement from a DISCUS comment submitted last year on a similar subject:
I build all my Get Home Bags (72 hour kits) with a mini-survival kit, in event I have to drop the larger container. Or, if I am with someone and we are forced to split up. The mini-kits generally have at least these 5 items: Swiss Army Knife or plier-multitool (with saw), lighter, straw water filter, flashlight and space blanket. My survival containers are set up around a combination of weapons systems: Henry AR-7 & Ruger P345, Ruger 10/22 Takedown & Ruger GP-100, Rossi Circuit Judge & Judge Public Defender. I changed the concept from “Bug Out” to “Get Home” with the realization that no one in my family will want to walk very far with a heavy pack.
