Handheld, Portable, Electric, Survival Water Filter? Yes, Please!
Hurricane season is underway, and whether you’re a bona fide prepper or just somebody who knows that clean drinking water is essential to survival regardless of circumstances, you’ll be excited to hear about the new handheld, electric, portable PRO X from Survivor Filter…the first in the world of its kind. It runs on your choice of USB charging from an electrical source, or two AA batteries. If you find yourself without power, those two batteries will pump up to 95 gallons. What’s especially remarkable about this is the time in which the PRO X will do the filtration, and how little effort it requires on your part.
Essentially, the PRO X Portable can filter up to 17 ounces of water per minute, making this an ideal filter for large containers and family use. Handheld filters can be tiring, especially when you’re trying to keep up with drinking and cooking water for a group. All you have to do is push a button.
What’s even more interesting is just how little can get past this filter. If you’re out in the wilderness, the fact of the matter is that the majority of natural water sources are contaminated, and I don’t mean with dirt. Parasites like Cryptosporidium and Giardia can cause diarrhea intense enough to require emergency medical care…not to mention viruses, staph, and bacteria that can also occur in that fresh-looking lake or stream.
Inside the PRO X, water passes through three separate filters: a 0.1 micron UF pre-filter membrane, then a carbon filter, and finally a 0.01 Micron UF membrane filter. This combination removes 99.999% of Protozoa. Cryptosporidium, Giardia, or other parasites are also removed. The PRO X also strips 99.5% of mercury and 93% of lead.
It’s also very convenient and easy to carry. The SURVIVOR FILTER PRO X can pump directly from any fresh water source into the attached cup or any portable hydration pack. It’s only 6 inches long, so it will fit easily into your backpack, go-bag, or on the shelf next to your battery-powered camp lights. MSRP is $125; click here for more information, or to purchase.Â
