Originally published: October 31, 2026
Gun giveaways are free drawings where a company puts up firearms and gear and picks a winner at random, and ours is the Giving Thanks $10,000+ Guns & Gear Giveaway: one winner takes all 15 prizes, worth $10,000+ together. Entry is free from November 1 through 11:59 p.m. Central on November 30, 2026, for legal U.S. residents 21 and older outside New York and Florida.
Every gun ships to a licensed dealer in your state, and you pass the same background check as any buyer. Our giveaway names every sponsor, publishes its rules on the entry form, and never asks you for money to collect.

What Is in Each Prize?
Here is each prize in the same order, with the specs that matter from each maker’s own page, so you know exactly what you are entering for (something too many gun giveaways leave out). Fourteen companies donated them, GunsAmerica is our promotion partner, and Wild Giants Conservation joined as a sponsor without a prize.
1. OA Defense 2311 Compact Standard Elite Package
The top prize is a 9mm OA 2311 Compact Standard Elite, part of the line OA Defense calls a fully ambidextrous double-column 1911. It is a new model that OA has not listed on its website yet. OA tells us it leaves off the slide cuts and ported barrel of the OA 2311 Compact Pro Elite, which is why it is priced below it. Our package adds a custom Howe Arms Cerakote finish, a Cyelee Chameleon red dot, a Red Hill Tactical holster and four Magpul AMAG magazines. See our guide to the 2011 pistol.
2. Magnum Research BFR in .360 Buckhammer
The BFR is an all-stainless single-action revolver, built in .360 Buckhammer on Magnum Research’s long-cylinder frame. The launch release calls it the first handgun in that cartridge and gives it a 10 in. barrel with a 1:12 twist and plow-handle rubber grips. The Magnum Research BFR page lists six rounds for this chambering, a fixed front sight with an adjustable rear, and a 4 to 5 lb trigger. See our BFR .360 Buckhammer article.
3. Nosler 9mm 115-Grain JHP ASP, 1,000 Rounds
ASP is Nosler’s Assured Stopping Power line, and the prize is two cases, 1,000 rounds of 115-grain jacketed hollow point in Nosler brass. Nosler lists 1,170 fps and 350 ft-lbs at the muzzle, and 1,090 fps and 303 ft-lbs at 25 yards. The brass may be marked +P, but Nosler says the load itself is standard pressure. Details are on Nosler’s 9mm 115-grain ASP page and in our 9mm hollow point article.
4. JK Armament RPX 9K Suppressor, Black
The RPX 9K is a configurable 9mm suppressor from JK Armament, which was founded in 2019 in southern Idaho. JK lists it at 3.3 to 7.25 inches long and 7.5 to 13.1 ounces with the mount, built from titanium and 7075 aluminum, and it ships with a 1/2×28 booster for 9mm pistols.
The JK Armament RPX 9K suppressor takes one more step. It is a National Firearms Act item, so it transfers only through a dealer licensed for NFA items, after the winner files the transfer paperwork and gets any approval ATF requires. It cannot go to a winner who lives where suppressors are banned (California, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and the District of Columbia). That winner still gets every other prize, and the suppressor goes to an alternate winner, as the official rules explain.
5. RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme Elite Kit
RCBS lists 13 items in this kit, built around the Rock Chucker Supreme press with an ambidextrous handle and a 4.25 in. loading window for magnum cases. The box also holds a ChargeMaster Link electronic powder dispenser, a hand priming tool, a dial caliper, a deburring and chamfer tool, Case Slick lube and a Hodgdon reloading manual. Dies and shell holders are not on the list, so plan on buying those. See the RCBS kit page, our Rock Chucker Supreme Elite kit review and our in-depth kit article.
6. $500 CrossBreed Holsters Gift Card
The $500 gift card is credit at CrossBreed Holsters, a holster maker in Springfield, Missouri, that says its holsters are “manufactured, assembled, and shipped in the USA.” Its lines include the LightGuard, the SuperTuck IWB holster and the Modular Belly Band, and our guide to CrossBreed holster types on Popular EDC sorts out which style fits.
7. Vortex Defender-ST Micro Red Dot
The Defender-ST is a micro red dot from Vortex’s Defender line, listed by Vortex for “Handguns. Shotguns. Offset on a carbine.” Gun Digest’s review reports a 7075 aluminum housing and a 3 MOA or 6 MOA dot (the small dot for precise shots, the big one for fast close work). Vortex backs it with an unlimited, unconditional lifetime warranty. See the Vortex Defender-ST page and our Defender-ST article.
8. Accurate 1680 Powder, 8 lb
Hodgdon calls Accurate 1680 an extremely fast-burning, double-base, spherical rifle powder for small-case rifle rounds such as the 22 Hornet and 7.62×39, and for large-capacity, high-performance handgun cartridges such as the 454 Casull. The prize is 8 pounds. Charge weights come only from Hodgdon’s own published data, so you will find none here. Specs are on Hodgdon’s Accurate 1680 page and our Accurate 1680 uses article.
9. Winchester WinClean 244 Powder, 8 lb
WinClean 244 is a Winchester ball powder, sold by Hodgdon and developed for medium handgun loads. Hodgdon calls it ideally suited to 38 Special, 45 Auto and 9mm standard loads, and says its WinClean additive makes it burn cleaner and cuts copper fouling. Add the press from prize four and the brass from 1,000 Nosler rounds, and the winner has the makings of a 9mm reloading bench. See Hodgdon’s WinClean 244 page and our WinClean 244 uses article.
10. Real Avid Bore-Max Master Cleaning Kit and Smart-Torq Driver Kit
Real Avid’s prize is two kits. The Bore-Max Master Cleaning Kit and Mobile Workstation packs brushes, jags, patches, a three-piece 42-inch Smart Rod, a bore guide, picks and a 180-lumen work light into a water-resistant case whose base holds the gun in locking Gun Gripper yokes. Real Avid lists it for .22 to .45 caliber handguns, .22 to .30 caliber rifles, and 20- and 12-gauge shotguns. The Smart-Torq Adjustable Limiter & X3 Driver Kit sets screws from 15 to 65 inch-pounds in 1 inch-pound steps, and its X3 driver works as a 72-tooth ratchet, a T-handle and a screwdriver, with 12 bits in a soft case. See Real Avid’s Bore-Max page, Real Avid’s Smart-Torq page and our Real Avid gun cleaning kit article.
11. Shooting Targets USA Cowboy Silhouette Set
The Cowboy Silhouette is the classic cowboy action sheriff shape, 18×29 in., in 3/8 in. SR500 abrasion-resistant steel with a 1/2 in. square hole for hanging. Shooting Targets USA lists it for 9mm, .45 ACP, .223, .30-06 and .308, and it is reversible, so both faces take hits. The set adds Target Hangers, sold in pairs to fit 1/2 in. mounting holes, and Quick Stands, steel holders that turn three 2×4 boards into a stand. See the Cowboy Silhouette page and our steel targets guide.
12. $300 GunPrime Gift Card
The $300 GunPrime gift card is credit at GunPrime, an online store that sells pistols, rifles, shotguns and ammunition, and it is good until July 1, 2027. GunPrime says all firearms ship from its approved FFL dealers, and federal law sends a gun to a licensed dealer in your state, same as the prize guns. Our look at GunPrime’s online gun store explains its orders, and our guide on how to buy a gun online covers the rest.
13. CIVIVI Cibus and Hid Knives
CIVIVI sends two knives, both in 14C28N steel with G10 handles. The Cibus is a chef knife with a 7.87 in. drop-point blade and a flat grind, at 5.1 oz. The Hid is a thumb-stud folder with a 4.14 in. reverse tanto blade, a nested liner lock and a reversible tip-up pocket clip, at 5.2 oz. Specs are on CIVIVI’s Cibus page and Hid page and in our CIVIVI knives article.
The Tracer Tactical LowVis Waist Pack is a low-profile, unbranded waist pack built for discreet everyday carry, featuring a main compartment that can accommodate a holstered pistol along with front and rear admin pockets. Made in the USA, it offers a lightweight, minimalist design with an adjustable strap that fits a range of waist sizes while keeping gear accessible without drawing attention.
14. Tracer Tactical LowVis Waist Pack
Tracer Tactical builds the LowVis Waist Pack to carry a pistol low-profile. Its clamshell main compartment measures 9×7 in. inside and takes pistol and holster combos up to 2.5 in. thick. It weighs 8 oz, fits 32 to 49 in. waists, has dual zippers for either hand, and Tracer makes it in the USA from U.S. materials. The prize is the pack only; the Adjustable Appendix Holster Mounting Panel V2 is sold separately. See Tracer’s LowVis Waist Pack page and our concealed carry fanny pack article.
15. Armorer Pro, One Year
Armorer is an iPhone, iPad and Android app that tracks round counts, magazines and service intervals. Round logging and maintenance history stay free, but the free tier stops at two firearms. Armorer Pro removes the limits and adds shot timer import, voice logging, documents, value tracking and data export. The prize is one year of Pro, laid out on Armorer’s FAQ and in our gun maintenance app article.

Who Can Enter Gun Giveaways Like This One
You must be a legal U.S. resident and 21 or older when you enter, and the winner shows proof of age before any prize is awarded. New York and Florida residents are excluded.
Why 21 and not 18? Federal law bars a licensed dealer from selling or delivering a handgun to anyone under 21, under 18 U.S.C. § 922(b)(1), and two of the prizes are handguns.
New York and Florida both regulate prize promotions tied to selling goods or services when the prizes top $5,000. New York General Business Law § 369-e requires a filing with the Secretary of State 30 days ahead plus a trust account or bond; Florida Statutes § 849.094 requires a state filing 7 days ahead plus a trust account or surety bond. Our official rules simply leave both states out.
How the Winner Is Picked
As in all fair gun giveaways, the winner is chosen by random draw under the sponsor’s supervision after entries close at 11:59 p.m. Central on November 30, 2026. Then, per the official rules:
- The winner is notified within 7 days of being selected.
- The winner has 7 days from that notice to claim the prizes.
- If the winner cannot be reached, is not eligible, or does not claim in time, the prizes can be forfeited and an alternate winner drawn.
How Guns Ship to Winners of Gun Giveaways
Having worked behind the counter for over 20 years, I get asked whether a prize gun can just be mailed to the house. It cannot. Federal law sends it through a licensed dealer, like any online purchase.
The ATF puts it plainly: an unlicensed buyer may get a firearm from an out-of-state source when the transfer goes through a federal firearms licensee in their state of residence. The steps for our winner:
- You pick a licensed dealer (an FFL) in your home state.
- The sponsor ships the firearm to that dealer.
- You fill out the paperwork, and the dealer runs the background check federal law requires under 18 U.S.C. § 922(t) before the transfer (in some states, a qualifying state permit stands in for that check).
- You pick the gun up in person.
Per the rules, the dealer’s fees and any state permits are on the winner. If you have never had a gun shipped to a dealer, our guide to buying a gun on GunsAmerica walks through the same dealer pickup.
Do You Pay Taxes on Prizes From Gun Giveaways?
Yes. The IRS counts prizes as income. IRS Publication 525 says that if you win a prize in a drawing or contest, you must include it in your income, and prizes paid in goods count at their fair market value.
Form 1099-MISC instructions put prizes and awards in box 3, and for tax years beginning after 2025 the reporting line is $2,000. At $10,000+, the winner should expect a Form 1099-MISC, and the rules make the taxes the winner’s job.
Publication 525 also says a prize you refuse is not income. Talk to a tax preparer before you decide anything.
How to Tell Real Gun Giveaways From Scams
The Federal Trade Commission’s test for gun giveaways and every other prize offer is short: “Real sweepstakes are free and winning is by chance,” and if you have to pay to get your prize, it is a scam. The FTC also says never hand over a bank or card number to claim one.
Nothing in our official rules asks a winner to pay Brand Avalanche Media a dime. The only costs go to someone else: your dealer’s transfer fee and your taxes. Anyone who emails you a “you won” note and asks for a gift card number is NOT us.
Our Past Gun Giveaways
We have run gun giveaways for years. Giving Thanks ran in 2020, a $10,000 shopping spree plus more than 100 bonus prizes with GunsAmerica (per the 2020 announcement), and again November 3 through December 3, 2023, as GunsAmerica reported. Extraordinary Everyday Carry II ran in 2022 and Freedom Goes BANG, with 28 prizes, in July 2024.
A real gun safe took it: 58% of you who voted, with 25% using a locked cabinet or box.
Gun Giveaways: Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Giving Thanks giveaway legit?
Yes. It is run by Brand Avalanche Media, Inc. of Moline, Illinois, which owns this site, with official rules on the entry form, 12 named prize sponsors and GunsAmerica as promotion partner. We have run Giving Thanks giveaways before, in 2020 and 2023.
Is it free to enter?
Yes. No purchase is necessary. Entering costs nothing, and so do the bonus actions. A winner pays only the dealer’s transfer fee, any state permit and taxes, none of it to us.
Can I enter more than once?
You raise your odds through the bonus actions, not by filling out the form again. Referrals are the big one, at 5 bonus entries per friend who enters.
What if I cannot legally own one of the prizes?
Every firearm goes through a licensed dealer in your state and a background check, so your state’s law decides what the dealer can hand over. The official rules say an ineligible winner can forfeit the prizes and an alternate can be drawn, so check your state’s rules before you enter. The suppressor is the clearest example: where suppressors are banned, the winner keeps the other prizes and the suppressor goes to an alternate winner.
When is the winner announced?
The random draw happens after entries close at 11:59 p.m. Central on November 30, 2026, and the winner is notified within 7 days of being picked. Once the prizes are claimed, we post the winner’s first name and state on this page.
So there it is: fifteen prizes, one winner, zero dollars to enter, and the same dealer counter every gun buyer uses. If your name comes up, I will be the first to say congratulations (right after your dealer says “sign here”).
