Ed Brown is celebrating their 50th Anniversary of making the very finest of custom 1911’s in the industry. Back in October they began the year-long celebration of the anniversary with the release of their 2018 Executive Target.

Here is a list and brief review of the 2018 releases to-date:

  • 2018 Executive Target
    •
    • From the website – “Redesigned for 2018, the Executive Target features our new Ed Brown RMR mount and Trjicon RMR® sight. Ideal for precise target work, the sight set up allows for quick target acquisition, making distance shots remarkably easy. The red dot sight allows the shooter to acquire the target quickly while keeping both eyes open, which is especially beneficial for new shooters or  aging eyes, who have difficulty focusing on the front sight. The frame is dressed with traditional 25 lpi checkering for a refined look, while the slide is finished with a sleek French border and ball endmill cuts. A flattened and serrated top of slide finishes off the package. Fully customizable, and backed by our Lifetime Warranty and the industry’s best customer service.”
    • Released October, 2017
  • FX1 9mm
    •
    • From the website – “The new FX1 slide cuts package and American flag rear serrations create an impressive display of ingenuity and craftsmanship. Decked out with a lightrail, new FX1 Snakeskin frontstrap treatment, one-piece magwell, recessed slide stop with serrated pin, and flush barrel with recessed crown, the FX1 is truly a one-of-a-kind pistol. Our latest finish options are put on display with this model; Industrial: a modern brushed stainless finish, and Dirty Olive Gen4: a two-color process that creates a unique, urban look.”
    • Released December, 2017
  • ZEV 1911
    •
    • From the website – “The new ZEV 1911 was designed to appeal to fans of what is popular in custom polymer pistols, a market where ZEV is a clear leader. It is the result of ZEV’s unique styling applied to the world’s finest 1911.  Based on ZEV’s most popular design, the Dragonfly, the design shares the aggressive styling while maintaining the structural rigidity of the 1911 slide. Taking a cue from the ZEV look, the dimpled barrel makes for a striking effect, being visible through the side and top slide ports. The top of the slide showcases our new 7-top slide cuts, and is topped with a Trijicon RMR sight and tall night sights. The integral rail frame features edgy machining accents on the rail, while the frontstrap is adorned with the FX1 Snakeskin. A threaded suppressor ready barrel complete with a ZEV thread protector, recessed slide stop with serrated pin, and a blended one-piece magwell housing, finish out this show-stopping pistol.”
    • Released January, 2018
  • Executive Commander
    •
    • From the website – “The Executive Commander is essentially the Executive Elite in a Commander length. The slide has been reduced to the minimum possible (4.25″) without significantly impairing the legendary reliability of the 5″ slide. Classy and traditional, the 25 LPI checkering on the front strap and mainspring housing, is not too rough on the hands and allows for a secure grip. The slide is adorned with a french border, ball endmill cuts, flattened and serrated top and serrated rear, and topped off by a plain black fixed rear sight and gold bead front sight. The Executive Commander is a modern twist on a classic design.”
    • Released April, 2018

We can’t wait to check this out next week in Dallas!
