Carnivores Rejoice: Federal Ammunition to Launch MeatEater Ammo
Most television celebrities eventually get offered a sponsorship deal–shilling cookies, maybe, or toothpaste–but what happens if you’re MeatEater‘s Steven Rinella? Well, if you’re at the center of a lifestyle brand like Rinella, when the sponsors come knockin’, they’re usually wearing camo. So it’s exciting to see that Federal Ammunition, the world’s largest ammunition manufacturer, will be launching an exclusive line of centerfire, rimfire, and shotshell ammunition in January 2020.
If you’re not familiar with MeatEater, it’s essentially a media company founded by Rinella, a renowned outdoorsman, TV and podcast host, and conservationist. The deceptively simple name–what hunter doesn’t eat meat?–is actually the opening to a conversation between older hunters and outdoorspeople, and a new generation that’s only just now turning to the outdoors. In a nutshell, MeatEater takes the “hipster” concept of farm-to-table and translates it to hunting. Fresh, local, and humanely raised is the way the next generation likes it…and what do you know, hunting your own protein offers exactly that!
“I’ve used Federal Ammunition for most of my life because it’s the best on the market,” said Steven Rinella. “Our whole team is excited to be partnering with the brand we depend on for quality and consistency in the field, which leads to quality and consistency in the meals we share with our familes.”
Initially, Federal Ammunition will launch the MeatEater line of ammunition with the proprietary Trophy Copper centerfire ammunition. The line will feature eighteen calibers ranging from .223 to 338 Lapua Magnum and will include popular offerings in 6.5 Creedmoor, .270 Win, 30-06, and 300 Win Mag. The comprehensive line will include turkey loads, bismuth offerings for waterfowl and upland enthusiasts, and rimfire products for plinking and small game hunting. To match the core value of MeatEater, every centerfire box of Federal MeatEater ammo will include a favorite recipe from the MeatEater kitchen.
“The MeatEater brand and Federal Ammunition are a great match,” said Federal Ammunition’s President Jason Vanderbrink. “The connection Steven Rinella has with his dedicated audience is on par with Federal’s history and heritage within the hunting community.”
We don’t currently have an MSRP for the MeatEater branded ammunition expected to roll out this coming January; keep an eye on this space for more!
