Precision rifle shooting is the hottest shooting sport of the last few years, but long-range shooting often comes with an itemized receipt almost as long as the rifle’s reach. Daniel Defense set out to change that with their DELTA 5 PRO, the 1200-meter rifle with the 100-meter price tag. This bolt-action surgical tool features an innovative chassis design, guaranteed to shoot sub half MOA. Yes, sub half MOA. And that’s where the fun begins…
The Daniel Defense DELTA 5 PRO is the next evolutionary step from the DELTA 5, which was released two years ago. It’s one of the first chassis rifles with an integral ARCA Rail. It features the same stainless steel action as the DELTA 5, with a three-bolt lug and cold-hammer-forged stainless barrels. That said, the PRO also boasts a new, a one-of-a-kind thumb rest that’s configurable to each shooter, whether right- or left-handed. It also has a toolless configurable buttstock, Area 419’s HELLFIRE Muzzle Brake and a list of other custom enhancements.
The Daniel Defense DELTA 5 PRO is available in .308 (20” Heavy Palma barrel), 6.5 Creedmoor (24” Heavy Palma barrel or 26” Varmint barrel), and 6MM Creedmoor (26” Varmint barrel). You have the option to choose a custom Cerakote upgrades in Coyote Tan or Olive Drab. The new PRO is backed by a .5 SUB-MOA Accuracy Guarantee and Daniel Defense’s unmatched 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.
“We believe this is the most accurate production rifle in the world. If you are new to long range shooting and just want to have fun with your friends, it will make it easier for you to get on target faster. If you’re more experienced and compete in PRS matches, it is a gun you won’t outgrow given the rich feature set it comes with right out of the box,” said Daniel Defense President & CEO Marty Daniel.
All four of the DELTA 5 PRO models retail for $2,499, bringing them in just under the wire for the “Production rifle” category in precision shooting. DanielDefense.com

“…the 1200-meter rifle with the 100-meter price tag…”
I am sure this weapon is of superb quality, but the statement I quoted above is rather out of touch with reality. Add a decent scope, and even with factoring in a bit of a discount from the MSRP, you are still talking at least $3,000 for the rifle/scope combination. Not too many people out there today can afford that.

I have to agree with both comments. I would also say that the caliber selection is pretty basic. You would think that they would have added at least a 6.5 PRC, 300 PRC, 300 WM, or 338 in there, especially for that not so 100 yard price point.

A bit pricey? Convert to CND $’s and yer talkin’ close to $3500 if not more!! Thats a Holy Crap moment up here!
WheresTheAmmo says
Too bad there isn’t any ammo around to shoot in it.
Roland says
You got that right! And, no reloading expendables, either! When was the last time you saw a selection of primers available!?
Tim Esplin says
That price is as out of touch with reality and the Lefties. Might be a great rifle but maybe 1% of shooters can afford one. I certainly can’t.
Joe Williams says
Seems pricey when you can get a Ruger PR for close to a grand.

$2500 is a 100 meter price tag? You folks are awfully generous with my earnings, even in these times of gouging.
