Why It’s Time You Got a Daniel DDM4 PDW AR Pistol and SBR
Acronyms incoming: The DDM4 PDW SBR is the home-defense weapon the reviewers kept at home.
Here’s a little-known secret about the relationship between gun reviewers and manufacturers: They really do not pay us for favorable coverage, but sometimes (if we really liked the gun we reviewed) we can purchase it from them at a discount as a used gun. Meet the gun that none of us sent back: Daniel Defense‘s DDM4 PDW AR pistol and SBR.
The Daniel Defense DDM4 PDW is an AR pistol that was first introduced at the 2020 SHOT Show, right before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Those of us who had gotten our names into the queue to review the gun before the world went mad realized two things very quickly: One, that this is a fantastic firearm that works exactly as advertised; and two, that we would be purchasing our review gun even if it meant selling off some of our hoarded ammo. (Here’s another secret about gun reviewers: We hoard ammo, too.)
Within a few short weeks, the Daniel Defense DDM4 PDW had already picked up NRA’s Gun of the Week plaudit.
And here’s what they had to say over at Guns & Ammo in their full review: “The new Daniel Defense DDM4 PDW pistol in .300 Blackout is a superior alternative to traditional handguns because it offers improved ballistics, capacity, accuracy and range in a package that is small enough and light enough for everyday carry. Whether at home, work, or play, the American-made Daniel Defense PDW is the last word in personal protection.”
Featuring an overall length of 20.75”, the DDM4 PDW easily fits into a backpack for convenient transport. Its 7” 300BLK 1:7 twist cold hammer forged barrel keeps subsonic loads subsonic and provides great ballistics for a shorter barrel. The DDM4 PDW pistol comes equipped with the Maxim Defense CQB Pistol Brace with enhanced buffer system that functions reliably suppressed or unsuppressed. Other key features include a 6” MFR XL flat front rail, SLR M-Lok MOD2 Handstop to help ensure a safe shooting experience, a linear compensator to direct muzzle blast forward and independently ambi GRIP-N-RIP Charging Handle with anti-gas features. The MSRP for the DDM4 PDW pistol is $1,865 ($1,935 for the SBR).
