Recession? What recession? Steyr Arms is hiring…as long as you’re not this guy.

Keen-eyed readers have no doubt noticed that the current recession doesn’t seem to be impacting the gun industry. With record sales month after month, Steyr Arms is scrambling to keep up with consumer demand. That’s why they’re hiring for multiple new positions for their Bessemer, Alabama headquarters. Of course, they do have some fairly stringent requirements for their employees! We could make a long list of them for you, or we could simply point you to this video. Our friends at Steyr have created this humorous little film as a way for potential new members of the Steyr family to judge whether they should apply. Are you like this guy? If the answer is “no,” then you might just have a great career ahead of you.

  1. I’m a leader of men & woman,. Started as an engineering tech during Nam, worked on Jets, Missal systems, the b53, and even the Lunar Lander in the 60’s, I am 72. I got into hair cutting and built a 300 stylist chain of 5 Salons back in the 70’s through the late 90’s. Got burnt out sold everything and moved to Florida, for the weather, “got tired of carrying my dog across the street . Moved too FL in 96 and opened a 40,000 sq. ft World Gym, I had always worked out before it was cool. Now I day trade 20 + trades per day, Have 2 vehicles a house and a wife . I don’t know if you need someone who can do anything he puts his mind to. But here I am.

  2. I loved all the visual stuff in the background. MC hat, Gen Mathis, A-bomb tat, and of course the can cossy . Unfortuently, this is probably pretty standard for job applicants these days. Thank god I’m retired.

  3. Although I would be a good fit for your company, I am retired. Just super enjoyed your video, all too true. Also enjoy your product, I have been a NRA instructor for 40years and instructed SWAT for major County back in the 80s, good firearms are important. Take care and I hope you find the proper candidate for these positions.

  4. For all you guys that don’t live in Alabama, we love our gun manufacturers. I live about an hour away from Bessemer out in the sticks. Have owned a gun since I was 14. Guns, hunting and shooting are part of Alabama’s culture. And we are more than happy to have Steryr Manufacturing here locally.

    I would apply but then I wouldn’t have as much time for my gun hobby.

    I ‘m a retired Industrial Arts Teacher , Enjoy shooting as a hobby, And have built a few rifles.
    If I was looking for a job I’d try for an interview just to enjoy the experience!
    This Ad was beautiful ! You guys will always have Acting as a secondary vocation. ( Who says you were Acting)?

  10. He’ll come to kansas, we have lots of acreage, for a good size facility. Most people in Kansas own several fire arms as it stands. We are country, proud, respectful, god fearing, law abiding(most of us with a few exceptions) and very hardworking. We have several small owners, who just can’t keep up but a large Scale manufacturer would do exceptionally well. Several large buildings with test fire space shipping and receiving space as well. From one gun lover to another. This state has the space to develop especially the Hutchinson Kansas area! If I could I would open a fire arms manufacturing business. And retire happy when I’m dead and could no longer hold a gun(pry it from my cold dead law abiding hands). Your countries must loving people “the heartland” hope you would look at us as we have nothing major to truly support other than our Super Bowl CHAMPS!!!

    1. People who ACTUALLY RESPECT “God” WILL ALWAYS spell His name specifically with a capitol…LARGE case “G”. Otherwise it’s the same as every other word in any other language. There has to be attention drawn to this and of that means “I’m” the bad guy to point it out, so be it. The lack of respect IN THE WRONG places gets so old..

    1. I’d love them to come to PA unfortuently we are on the fence because of too many of the “fine” citizens from our neighboring states moving here (Ohio, excepted).

  13. Damn. A shame they don’t want to relocate the plant to Kentucky, Alabama is too far for me to commute daily.
