How to Get $1,100 Off Steyr’s Scout Rifle

In just a little over two weeks, Steyr Arms is holding an open house and factory-direct sale at their American Headquarters, located in Bessemer, Alabama…and this one’s shaping up to be well worth a road trip! Over the last couple of weeks, the folks at Steyr have been leaking hints about the various sales they’ll have on offer. The first one we learned about is their Open House Scout Package. Just in case you don’t know, the Scout rifle was first introduced back in 1998 at the Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show by Steyr and Col. Jeff Cooper (of Gunsite fame). Every so often, a perfect rifle meets with a perfect chambering, such as the wildly popular and flat-shooting 6.5 Creedmoor…and that’s been reason enough for Steyr to introduce a new caliber for the Scout. The Open House Scout Package includes Steyr’s iconic Scout rifle, Swarovski Z3 and Leupold PRW2 rings. The package will be retailing for $1895…a savings of over $1,100. Even with gas at its current price, that’s worth putting some miles on your car.

Another tidbit of insider information about Steyr’s upcoming factory-direct sale involves the Tactical Heavy Barrel (THB) rifle. The THB  has been famous among law-enforcement and long-range shooters since its debut, but those Austrian engineers at Steyr clearly believe that there’s no marvel of engineering that can’t be engineered further…so you can reach out further. (For the record, Austrians do not over-engineer things. Austrians engineer things precisely as much as they need to be engineered.) THB 6.5, on offer for $1,329; and THB .308 at $1199. These top-quality long-range hunting rifles usually retail for around $1,500—which is far more of a discount than I personally would need to make a journey to Bessemer.
